The anxiety can creep in, leaving you unsure of where to turn. You want to feel confident in your new role, but instead you feel like you're just getting through each day. The isolation, the emotional rollercoaster, and the doubt can make it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Imagine feeling calming, more confident in your decisions and truly present with your family. Therapy can give the tools to manage stress and rediscover the joy in the journey of motherhood. You don't have to do this alone.

Common Perinatal Mental Health Challenges faced by Moms during Pregnancy and Postpartum
You may have heard of the "baby blues", postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety or other terms used to describe various perinatal mental health experiences. However, you don’t need a diagnosis to seek support. Struggles during pregnancy and postpartum can show up in many ways—overwhelm, exhaustion, self-doubt, grief, or simply feeling like you’re not yourself. Everyone’s experience is different, and whatever you’re going through is valid. You deserve care and support, no matter what it looks like for you.

Perinatal mental health refers to the emotional and psychological well-being of individuals before, during and after pregnancy - typically the first year postpartum, but sometimes longer. This period can bring a complex mix of emotions—joy, excitement, and love, but also stress, fear, overwhelm, and sadness. While many expect to feel only happiness during pregnancy and new parenthood, it’s completely normal to experience a wide range of emotions, including uncertainty, grief, anger, or even a sense of loss for your previous identity or lifestyle.

Cultural messages often suggest that this should be the "happiest time" of your life, but the reality is different for many. If you’re not feeling constant joy, you are not alone, and it doesn’t mean you’re failing as a parent. Adjusting to pregnancy and parenthood is a major life transition that brings emotional and physical challenges, and it’s okay to seek support if you’re struggling.
